Polo 6R factory xenon/LED upgrade 6C xenon/led not working

Post by Cheesebrains »

Hope this is ok to post as I’m pulling my hair out here;

I have a Vw polo 1.2 tsi 6R R-line polo 2013 with factory xenon’s But fitted polo 6C bi-xenon with LED’s (genuine) 2015 headlights
But the parking/side lights only come on for 2 seconds then off, everything else fine.
It has fault codes:

02896
Activation for Left LED Parking
Lamp/DRL Module-Short circuit to ground

02898
Activation for Right LED Parking
Lamp/DRL Module-Short circuit to ground

00446
Function limitation due to insufficient
votage-Lower limit not reached

BCM
7H0 937 089F

Is the BCM ok to activate the LED side lights?
The pins are all there which are not in the basic models and all worked fine with the 2013 xenon/led headlights

Point of note, I have had the later (6c) rear lamps in for about 3 years without any fuss, some forums suggested there isn’t enough power reaching the LED headlight because of the later rear lamps??

I don’t have access to VAGCOM or anything similar so if it’s is just a case of coding the BCM would anyone be able to sort it???
Or point me in the right direction 👍🏼👍🏼

Apologies if this is totally of group topic!!

You need to add a wiring loom and code it correctly, yes. If you did this correctly, all should work.

Thanks, the car is already wired up from factory for the 6R xenon rline lights (14 pin plug, etc..)
So don’t think wiring is the issue??
They’re just the later model?
I’ve been checking voltage etc… tonite and gettin no answers so coding is looking like the answer 🤷🏼‍♂️
Would you think it would just be a case of coding and not having to mess/change the bcm??
It’s the highlife bcm as the car has cruise control, rain sensors, etc… so wouldn’t think it would need changing out 🤷🏼‍♂️

Do you mean you fitted the 6c led headlights?

Yes, parking light comes on for 3 seconds then goes off, no sidelights but got main beam (xenon)

😂😂
Will do!
The top and bottom of it is I was under the impression that as I had already got the polo 6R xenon/LED headlights fitted, from the factory, genuine (14 pin plug) that as the polo 6C (facelift essentially) would just work as the old ones did but the side lights and the “parking” lights (when you start the car up) will not work
