Hi,

Can anyone help me here?

I am looking for the torque settings for:

Big End bolts
Main Bearing bolts
Ladder Rack bolts

This is for my daughters 2014 Mk 5 1.2 12 valve engine.

I have tried and looked everywhere - the answer is usually there is no technical data as these parts are non replaceable and the lower half is not rebuilt - throw it away and replace!!!

Well - they sell the parts! Anyone got any knowledge on this?

Thanks for any help!!!

Why, click on VW database before 2017.
Then fill out the data for your car, model, year, engine, transmission code, and the language of database.

Then after click on the green toolbox icon, and then find the thing you need.

Its prety interesting and simple if you give it a shot. It will also tell you how to dissasemble the parts etc.

Thanks for your reply.

I actually did that and nothing happened. Do I have to sign up to the site?

I've been also looking, at it seems that they don't list the engine rebuild specs is ELSA. Maybe Autodata has this or Haynes ?

Haynes certainly does not and as far as I know Autodata doesn’t either.

VW won’t give out the torques and all I get from them is that this procedure isn’t carried out! The engine lower half isn’t repaired - it is replaced!
