Blocking the EGR exhaust gas from going in the intake

Did anyone try to block the EGR gasses with one of thes blank plates so the EGR is still plugged in (opens/closes the valve) but no exhaust gasses make it into the intake?

I heard it may not trigger a check engine light.

Also what are the downsides of blocking the EGR? From what I heard except for the higher emissions while doing city driving there are none. I don't know for sure tho.

if you disable the EGR, for your dpf its going to be hard to do the regeneration in the city conditions. You would have to go on open road or highway.

You will still pass emission test the blackout/ smoke value will be ~0.10

I do a lot of out of city driving. I'm trying to block it because i think it's not working as well as it should. I've had a few instances where after taking off the car felt like it had no turbine. I think the egr valve gets stuck open and I want to see if there is any change after blocking it.
After a search I see there are kits with blocking plates and some electronic box to fake it and avoid the error.

If you can cut your plates, i can give you the drawing.
You can buy metal square plates 3-4 mm thick. Grinder, and drill.

You can use Kess V2 clone and Davinci to turn the egr DTC-off.
Only if your ecu is already ulocked

again your dpf will have hard time regenerating almost immposible in city driving. I had egr off on my car and dpf was on

i can buy the plates for cheap, i was just trying to figure out if it would throw an error. My ecu is not unlocked so i dont think i can remove the egr dtc. I'll think about it some more, I don't want to ruin the DPF in the process.
