Gear shift indicator vanishes on dashboard

Interesting question follows...

Polo AW 2018 1.6 TDI manual transmission - gear shift indicator on dashboard vanishes after shifting to 3rd gear and also when in 4th and 5th, accelerating and decelerating is accompanied with engine shutters - just like engine mounts are gone. When in 1st and 2nd gear (gear shift indicator shows numbers on dashboard), engine works smooth and no engine shutters when accelerating and decelerating.
No engine failure flash lights on dashboard and no error codes.

Anyone encountered similar issue?
