Polo 1.2 6r ABS module/connector pin positions RESOLVED

I have ABS+ESP+brake system warning lights and also the TPMS is on permanently and won't reset.
Topcon diagnostic reports 00290 for left rear speed sensor. I changed the sensor for a new one - no change. I borrowed one off my daughter's polo - no change.
So I want to check the harness/cable from the wheel sensor to the abs pump/module, but I'm struggling to identify the correct pins on the module plug.

The rear left wheel connector plug is G46 and pin one goes to pin 33 on the pump module plug and pin 2 goes to pin 20. I think that is right?
But I cannot identify which pins are 33 and 20. As far as I can see, there are no number markings on the plug at all and I cannot find an image of the same plug online.

Can anybody point me where I might find a layout of the plug which shows pin positions?

Thanks

Ah, March 2011.

The pump has two part numbers on it: 6RO 907 379 AJ and 6RO 907 379 AF

Thanks.

That's perfect iichel. Thanks for your help. I'm getting something like 0.9v at the wheel plug, which I think should be closer to 12v from what I've read. Hopefully this will enable me to track a fault and get it fixed.

Rear left is 33 and 20. I'd recommend to test both wires for continiuty since you don't feel like the sensor itself is wrong, which you verified with a second sensor.

Thanks for the advice both. The pin 2 cable is dead between the wheel and abs plug. I cut the cable under the back seat and tested in both directions; it's good to the wheel but dead to the abs plug. So I need to trace the cable and try and find where the problem is. My feeling is it won't be in the line. The cable sheathing is very thick, which leads me to think it is more likely to be at the abs plug itself.

Do either of you know if there are any connectors in between?

- J7 and J8 are not connectors or couplings; they are splices made during the initial wiring construction.

- Checking the status of an "active" ABS sensor is often difficult with an ohmmeter/multimeter; an oscilloscope is better.

- The ABS sensor ring is also part of the ABS electrical system. It is located on the wheel hub/bearing. Clean.

- You can overlay a pair of new twisted cables for checks.

Thanks again. I plan to follow the wiring from the rear seat to the front, as best I can. The J7 connection is a possible weakness?
My concern really is if it ends up me needing to get at the pin connections in the back of the abs plug. It's tightly packed in there and not the best access.
Do you know if the plug is a sealed unit or if it comes apart for access to the back of the pins?

(Slavik pic :) )

It's just another connector/plug, your skills to remove the parts will tell you how difficult it is to access the pins/terminals.

OK, thanks again. Very useful. I view of that I'm thinking I will bypass the harness and run a cable from the back of the pin to where I've cut under the rear seat. If I can get that pin connection it shouldn't be too bad. My job for this afternoon.

OK, all sorted. I got the module plug apart but there seemed to be no issue there. I removed the plastic carpet trim at the base of the nearside front door, and found a lump in the harness, which I think must be the J7 joint. After the joint there is a twisted pair of green/black cables going to the abs plug. I cut into the green cable and tested continuity with pin 33 and it was sound. So I connected a piggyback cable from the green back to where I cut the cable under the back seat, bypassing the J7 joint, and success. Dash lights out. Codes cleared. All good.

Thanks again all, for your help.
