You've come to the right place, as you own a Mk4. What's the problem exactly?

when the car does start, it has no power. i put my foot down and it doesnt respond, it just goes up to about 2000 revs. thought it might be an electrical problem at first. so i checked the coil and leads, there is current there(just thought, might change the spark plugs in the morning). so now i think it might be fuel lines or something, as i still hear the fuel pump when the ignition is on.

also when the ignition is on i can hear like a faint alarm, coming from the back of the engine bay, not sure if it was there before. has anybody heard this aswel, if so do you know what it is?
