to all tdi owners: removing muffler (mufflerectomy)?

i've been reading a lot lately at tdiclub.com and i came across a mod called "mufflerectomy". as the name implies it involves the replacement of the muffler with a straight exhaust pipe on tdi engines. i've heard some sound clips with the whiiizzzz of the turbo coming so sweet! has anyone here done this? if so, please share your experiences. thanks a lot!
