Aluminium boot struts...

Post by Nelson_Wilbury »

Still haven't got around to posting pics of mine but I found a pic on polo9n.com that should satify your needs...

Doesn't look TOO bad on that pic but on even darker colours like mine you REALLY notice it :P

Just thought I'd add...

I do realise that Aluminium is 30% lighter than steel, but I can assure you that they weren't changed for weight reasons  :P

Look nice Neil.

Do they bolt straight on? Where are they from?

And even more importantly: What's their size?

:D

Alex,

I saw these on an SE model that was being repaired at a VAG approved bodyshop. I found these were standard on the German 'Comfortline' from launch and have been standard on SE models only recently. The part number of the two struts are 6Q6827550.

I have just measured my old struts against my Mums 6N2 and sadly the 9n struts are about 60-70 mil longer (bonnet strut - 50ml) which would mean no way to fit them on a 6N2 :(

HOWEVER, I imagine the Lupo GTi will almost definately have them as standard so I'll check ETKA tomorrow and i'll see what I can come up with.

The struts cost me £34 inc. VAT (cost price)

No worries Neil. I suck at names to be honest, so I'm really not bothered!

Quite interested in the mod though...

I have them on mine.

Not the best picture, but you can see in the top left. Have to get a better one...

Do you have any close up pics of your Votex roof Spoiler? How well do they fit?

Cheers
