Yeah I've had real problems with my ashtray! Don't smoke myself but the b/f does ... got stuck and a mate tried to pull it out ... so now it's broke and won't come out at all! :?

Opps!!

OK - to all those people who have sticky ashtrays

Remove it

Wash it

Dry it

Wipe all the congealed detritus off the runners on the dash centre section

And try some silicone spray on the runners (Back to Black is a good substitute BTW)

Should slide smooth after a small application

Did you fit it on the existing Lambda sensor or drill a new hole weld a boss on and fit an additional one?

I hope you don't mind me asking because I've used them before for chip development work and on Vauxhalls they play havoc with the ECU if you run them piggy backed to the existing lambda

I had to fit another lambda in the end run a separate power feed to get a true reading and stop the thing screwing up the ECU

I plan to fit one to the polo once I get another ECU to start playing with the maps and if I can piggy back then it will be a result other wise I'll get the welder out again
