Steering Wheel Smoke Anyone??

Post by polo69 »

So this happened a couple of months agao but i thought i would share it with everyone.

This one morning in particular, started my car and smoke poured out from the steering wheel and there was a singe(SP?) smell.

Ive had no problems but just wondered if anyone knew what it was about??

Hi mate

I had this on my MK4 (1.4 CL 1999 model year).

I sh1t bricks and took it straight to the dealers.

They replaced all the switch-gear behind the steering wheel, but they told me it was just the switches burning some contact lubricant off...

I'd still get it looked at mate... Electrical fires will ruin your day!
