Wheel dilema.....

Post by robz »

Jst looking for some advice....

I had my pslots polished during the summer & i thought they looked great (tho i like how they looked in silver when i got them), but the harsh Scottish summer has eaten away at them.

So I have 3 opions do I:
1) Get the pslots powder coated in silver
2) Clean up the 13" BBS GT alloys ive got & use them
3) Save up & buy come new alloys (something in the style of RH cups)

Im trying to sell another set of alloys ive got in my garage so that will bring in some £££. So any views are welcome.

Thanx

I think that's a vauxhall wheel.. don't know what it's called, but it looks like the wheels a friend of mine has on her 1.4 Nova Flair..

They can't be Vauxhall? I was interested in that style of BBS, as I had previously seen them on a squareback and a red Coupe. Both were CL spec, so whether they were optional?

Karl.

Hi robz,

A think they are bbs RAs of a G40. A can vouch for them - they are good wheels as a helped clean them (held the hose)! Could only benifit from new center caps to make them look extra good.

A would either get your Ps re coated silver with black painted p recesses and centers or sell all of them and get other wheels! but not the same as mine! grrrr! a wanted RH cups but had to settle for replicas.
A still like your old TSW wheels mind as they were smart and would show of G40 brakes nicely!

Too similar to the BBS RA's for it to be standard VW trim, surely? Why would VW have two versions of the same style of wheel as optional extras when very few people would notice the difference? Really does look very much like the vauxhall version, whatever that's called.

They do look like Vauxhall wheels especially the ones fitted to caviliers spelt that wrong! but they are vw as they came of a 1991 gt estate and the sticker in the boot lists the wheels as factory optional extras.
ETKA only lists one bbs type wheel for the 1991 polo range so a presume this is it! might be wrong but groovy carrot! I have the vw part code but a dont think bbs would stamp it on the wheels.
