Removing the gear knob

I've just bought a nice Momo gear knob and am wondering how does the original one come off?:)

See the guide section on changing gearknob for MKIV to MKV

- Unclip gaiter at base on centre console
- lift up gaiter (like a skirt over a girls head )
- Metal clamp just below gear knob (squeezed ring) insert small screwdriver in the crimped section to expand it

Gear shift should now lift off

God knows how you are gonna fit a momo one but I'm sure someone has done it!!!
