937Carrera,
Thanks for the reply.
I could not find the splice.
I eventually got it fixed by putting in a temporary earth.

Re: Fuel tank indicating empty when there is plenty of fuel in the tank.
Also if someone has access to the proper VW wiring diagrams
I would appreciate it if they can check the wiring checks I have carried out so far.
As I have been caught out by Haynes manuals before.
Thanks

Re: Oil Pressure Warning light, Buzzer and Airbag light "On"
I forgot to say in the above post that the 2 DTCs were picked up in the scan of the instrument cluster. So at the moment I am thinking that there may be a fault in the CAN BUS between the Engine Control Module and the ABS / Instrument Cluster. However the one thing that is niggling me is that I am g...

I forgot to say in my last post that the 2 DTCs found were in a scan of the Instrument Cluster. So I'm thinking the fault could also be in the CAN Bus between the Engine Control Module / ABS and the Instrument Cluster. However the one thing that is niggling me is that there are no fault lights lit o...

Hello, My daughter's Polo (year 2000 6N2 1.0 AUC ) has developed an interesting intermittent fault. With the ignition "Off" and the key removed from the switch she has had it happen a couple of times where the Oil Pressure lights starts to flash, the buzzer sounds and just for good measure...

Hello everybody,
I have just bought a Mk 5 for my daughter and unfortunately it has a dodgy ignition switch.
Can some kind soul out there give me some pointers as to how to change it and what is the recommended make of the replacement part ?
Many thanks,
S.
