Re: My first car (Silver 9n3) build thread

Funny thing is, I have just done so. They said, "declare any and all modifications which you know have been made or have made yourself". For all they know, I don't know of any modifications which have been made and did not make them myself. Ok. By law they also have to read out something ...

Typical response from a grumpy old fart who has been proven wrong!
An expected response from a child.

I'm not wrong - just speak to your insurers if you're so confident.

Thought not.

As I said: You know best. I wish I was 17 and knew everything.

You've done the modifications.

It's like a five year old child breaking something and saying "it was like that when I found it" - we all know the truth.

Re: My first car (Silver 9n3) build thread

My insurance will not be invalid for modifications which I have not done to the vehicle. For all I know, it came from the factory like that. Actually it will, but you seem to know best - which is understandable because you're 17. Just remember that a check can be performed to see what did not come ...

I'm only trying to be helpful. Seeing as how you know so much already, it seems you didn't need to ask.

Re: Composition Media SD Card and USB Stick Capacity

Thanks for that. I found a very good deal on a SanDisk Extreme 128 GB SDXC UHS I card so I've ordered one in the interests of experimenting. Also a SanDisk Ultra Fit 64 GB USB3 stick - the very short stubby type that barely protrudes from the socket. Both from reliable retailers because there are f...

Looks lush. I like your tips on the headlights; mine is only 4 years old, but it looks like the previous owner cleaned them with scotchbrite and a hammer. Before you buy the wheels, might be wise to check how much it'll increase your premiums by - it might be excessively expensive. Equally, now you...

Re: Composition Media SD Card and USB Stick Capacity

We've got 2 SD card inputs on our Audi MMI - using anything over 64Gb makes it take ages to open.

I've tried various different cards, but find that 32Gb SandDisk Extreme are the best.

Re: Dash Cam

Thinking of getting one of these myself, front and rear. I drive the M60 everyday and it's always been bad for people cutting you up but it's got worse since it was reduced to 50 as everyone is impatient. Just for peace of mind if someone does something stupid. It's harder to firing the rest on a h...

Re: Dash Cam

I fitted an ePrance 0803 front and rear to another car. I used one of these that converts 12v to 5v into a USB socket, so you can run a long USB cable and hide it, which is fairly easy. There's an inline fuse in there too. http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab91/Jamesaberry/XKEC/EBBE5203-C6CB-40BE-A...

I'm going to do our other cars calipers in black. I might even put transfers on them.

That must've been rather scary Yes auto boxes and skidding is a totally different ball game I like to blame the Rolling Stones. Gimme Shelter came on, I'd been at the gym and was on a bit of a high, felt the love and the next thing I knew I was facing the wrong way down a dual carriageway. So Jagge...

Re: TPMS for Winter Tyres

I bet it did! I had a similar experience in my Edition 30 - had some copy cat continental sports on it and they handled like they were made of pencil erasers. Changed all four to Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 2s and it was like night and day - good tyres those. I've some evasive driving experience, ...
