the cubby box below the HU just pulls out with a good tug!

there is a way you can remove the HU without keys, but its better to get a cheap set off ebay ;)

once the HU is out, the CD should plug into the back (the CD player should come with a connection cable)

Nice one i thought it might be the case, i just have to drive a fair way over the In Laws which is a technology dead zone so if i get stuck i got no hope of popping on the net for help!

So i do have to slide the main HU out as well, not way i can get the cable in from the back?

Did you get the spacer with the cd player? Here's how I did mine:
  1. Pulled the bottom cubby box out
  2. Slide the headunit out
  3. Insert the spacer
  4. Slide in the cd player in the bottom feeding the wires round the back and through the top.
  5. With the bottom cd player in position plug it into the headunit
  6. Make sure there is room for the wires in the back and slide the headunit into place. This should* go straight in.
*Took fapping ages! It seemed like there wasn't enough room for the wires at the back but eventually got it to fit!

Hope this helps.
