Being a girl (no not blonde!!) my EPC light has come on and our manuals are not very helpful all they say is engine fault take to volkswagen dealer straight away. I cant afford this any thing i can do? and what does it mean???
I take it you don't want to pay the high costs of VW putting their diagnostic machine on your car. Where abouts do you live? Because my uncle has a specialist VW garage in Park Royal, London and can run Diagnostic checks on almost any car. He also has the VW diagnostic machine. I think he charges around £45 for this. I'll make sure and find out for you.
where abouts in scotland? i went to dave reid in forfar, he fixed my car for £121, needed some new bits and he ran it on the diagnostic machine thingy ma bobber.Put my car in monday evening picked it up wednesday, sorted!
Check that you are not having any problems with your brake lights not coming on or staying on all the time!!
There is a fault sometimes with the brake sensor ( a little ratchet thing on the brake pedal) it sticks on and causes the lights to stay on or not come on at all.
Think VW will charge throught the nose for this to run diagnostics and what not but this happened to me and was a simple fix.
