Hi there,

I take it you don't want to pay the high costs of VW putting their diagnostic machine on your car. Where abouts do you live? Because my uncle has a specialist VW garage in Park Royal, London and can run Diagnostic checks on almost any car. He also has the VW diagnostic machine. I think he charges around £45 for this. I'll make sure and find out for you.

No problem.

I think its probably your temperature sensor anyway. Because I had the same problem. Anyway its Green 4-pin and located on the water housing.

Many Thanks

Rozzie,

Check that you are not having any problems with your brake lights not coming on or staying on all the time!!

There is a fault sometimes with the brake sensor ( a little ratchet thing on the brake pedal) it sticks on and causes the lights to stay on or not come on at all.

Think VW will charge throught the nose for this to run diagnostics and what not but this happened to me and was a simple fix.

Hope this helps

Could be a number of things. Mine came on a month ago and it was caused by an arcing ignition lead. Needed 4 new ones but all sorted now.

Arching in what sense, came out of the holders and bent in a bad way? or just from the curves it 'died'?

Thanks
