Post by Polo_Gio »

Cheers

different wiring i think, plus you would need the thermostat(sp?) thing that controls the temp

So.....No it won't work!

Whats wrong with standard air-con anyway? Or you just trying to jazz it up a bit? 8)

I once considered this too - but its near impossible and mega bucks, lots to change over and parts to add in, cost of adding makes it not worthwhile and the time it takes too etc....

I think the standard control works with steel wires? climatronic system is all electronically controlled, so temp sensors to add, switches, the loom etc...... nooo :(

Get the VW Etka program and see what parts do you need to change. I think it won't be so complicated... I was thinking in doing the same mod on my car...

It *is* complicated, i've only heard about one person doing it despite the costs and logistics

The parts catalogue will not help you in connecting it all up

Nice idea. If you do it, maybe you could write up a "how to..." for us as am sure lots of ppl would really like this mod.

Keep us updated

Thanks :P
