central locking...

Post by silvermk4polo »

Do any of you know what would be the best way to fit central locking to a 6n? ive had a look at fittign the central locking system from another polo but this means fitting the pump and all the associated tubes for the pump, has any of you found a better way other that ripping out the dashboard to route the pipes? or a company who could give me a different system? cheers ash

you just swap the front handles for some rear handles and that gets rid of the lock showing. a very easy mod.

as for the central locking kit - no idea, but my mate did it to his mk2 golf so it can't be that hard

i wouldn't think it was too hard to do - routing the wires might be a pain though.

I had an alarm quote recently and asked about C/L

He said the motor units for each of the doors are £30 each, but a full C/L system (to work also with the key) would be £100, and then fitting on top.

If you're going to delock it, then get the first option of a motor in each door, only if you have remote C/L !
