i went to start my car last night and it did nothing, i dont think i left anything on and the only thing on was the wipers. i know this prob didnt cause the battery problem but i just thort i would ask if that would have caused it? i prob just stupidly left the door slightly open or something
do i need to buy a new battery, it seems to be working fine now as i left it running for ages and went for a long drive??

Yup Im in that club too, should have the "you've left your lights on" sound when you switch the engine off!CymruPolo wrote:yeah I knowDScape wrote:My battery was dead the other day, so I had a new one stuck in...defo worth it for the winter, think the cold weather killed the remaining cells of my old battery. I didn't even have anything on, it just was totally dead.
Also, you leave your rear window heater on......until its clear!. . but I forget to switch it off sometimes.

No, it does still somehow remain powered, eventhough it is not clearing the rear window. Plus if u have elec mirrors, that switch does the heated door mirror function too i think, so it uses more power there! When the car is off it should be alright cos its disconnected thru the ignition, and when the engines on it should b alright if ur alternators ok
As for how long it takes, i dont know, but it should take longer than a few hours id say
I try and avoid using it completely, only when really neccessary
