Dead Battery

Post by henry01 »

i went to start my car last night and it did nothing, i dont think i left anything on and the only thing on was the wipers. i know this prob didnt cause the battery problem but i just thort i would ask if that would have caused it? i prob just stupidly left the door slightly open or something

do i need to buy a new battery, it seems to be working fine now as i left it running for ages and went for a long drive??

The windscreen wipers wont work unless you have the ignition on, and no I have had my light left on all night by accident and the battery was not dead when I got too it.

leaving the rear window heater switch on is common to run the battery down. I probably once pressed my hazard light switch to flash to someone behind, but unknowningly also pressed the window heater switch and forgot it. Maybe u did the same??

My battery was dead the other day, so I had a new one stuck in...defo worth it for the winter, think the cold weather killed the remaining cells of my old battery. I didn't even have anything on, it just was totally dead.

Also, you leave your rear window heater on......until its clear!

No, it does still somehow remain powered, eventhough it is not clearing the rear window. Plus if u have elec mirrors, that switch does the heated door mirror function too i think, so it uses more power there!

As for how long it takes, i dont know, but it should take longer than a few hours id say :?

I try and avoid using it completely, only when really neccessary
