just dont declare all mods

Try www.Elephant.co.uk they charge for mods but they do allow them.

The only thing he said to me was it's best to check with them before you do it, just to make sure.

And Ben, you really should decare them mate, you do know that by not declaring them your insurance is void, thus meaning basically that you are not insured.

that doesn't sound right at all mate, im with CIS too and they know about everything i've done to mine- coilovers, induction kit, exhaust etc. the woman i spoke to said my policy will not change as long as i dont do anything that will massively alter the bhp of the car, even though i have the induction kit and exhaust.

try calling again mate, i think it depends on who you speak to.

Now you say that actually, It's just made me remember when I was with CIS on my first car (as a named driver) I had a K&N 57i fitted, and the premium was unaffected.

Insure it standard.... then phone up a week later and ask how much extra alloys (or what ever mod you want to declare) will be...

(I think tehres a company called Brentacre? or something like that... highly recommended by many dubers)

if you wanna add alloys to your policy do they generally say that it's no extra charge unless you start doing engine mods then? i'm with elephant.

p.s i'd declare all mods, if i can't afford the insurance then i don't do the mods.....same reason why i havn't got a G40 right now just because i wouldn't be able to afford the insurance (as well as othr G40 related costs)

hey guys,

tesco are pretty good when it comes to modds, theyll charge you but they will allow them, BUT, get your policy on the web 1st to get ur 10% online discount, then ring them up to and say you've done them.
