my cars misfiring

just took it out for a spin, must say its quite low on petrol but shes misfiring all over the place, try puttin me boot down and it doesnt wanna move, it sounds like a popping diesel

any idea what could be wrong?

i had thought it could be dirty petrol or sumthin?

Probably ignition leads.

Search the board, theres a few causes and fixes to misfiring

change ur spark plugs, an look at ur plug leads, they cud b split, it cud b dirt aswell so mabye u shud change ur fuel filter, basically give ur car a service, how may miles are onda clock, coz if it was really serious, it cud b pistons but just check out the plugs 1st,

seems to be an answer to everything but try cleaning the throttle body, using carb cleaner or somethin, or try filling her up with optimax.

yeh she needs a gud service!!, just ive its never done this before, all of a sudden came on

tryed puttin me boot down and it just started doin it

mind it hasnt been move for about 3 or 4 months tho??

Had a similar problem a little while ago. Managed to cure it by changing the plugs and leads.

also try adding some injector cleaner. If youve left the car for a while then taken it out for a spin with low fuel you may have dragged some crap from the fuel tank into the injectors and maybe blocked them.

Clean the throttle body as well.

yea mine was also sittin 4along time an wen i was 1st drivin it, it was dead, it just needs run in again, if u havnt got injectors, dnt use redex injecter cleaner as ur car might run even worse as alot of crap is takin away an the engine will b even more worn, just change the plugs an oil/filter, that shud slove ur problem

Any MK4 should be injection

The most basic engines are single point while others are multi-point. I've used redex injector cleaner (red fluid) on my 1.3 SPi without problems.

well ive only a 1.0 an i know 4 a fact that if i add that stuffin2 my car, it will sound like a tractor afta, 100k onda clock, well worn in, so by addin redex, its gonna really clean it an the engine will b rattely coz its worn so much
