I KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE DISK SO SPENT 130 ON THAT FROM VW AND CANTAFFORD TO KEEP CHANGING IT. DO U THINK IT WOULD MAKE A TYPE OF SQEEKING SRAPING NOISE ON THE WHEEL. AND CAN SOME ONE SHOW ME A PIC OF TH EBEARING
if you've just worked on the brakes i'd take the wheel off and check nothing is touching...if you spin the wheel whilst its jacked up you should be able to hear where it's eminating from

You know the wheel bearing is gone and you're asking if that could be the cause of the noise? Most likely, yes. That's what happens when a wheel bearing goes. It makes a noise, it makes some more noise, then the wheel falls off.
ok i will get it changed. i have bought the bearings already they are in my boot of my car, i know they are compressed bearings but how do i no if they are correct because i read somewhere that polo gti bearings come with the hub but all i have is a small metal part that gets compressed. any pics of what it looks like many thanks goon..
Is the knocking simply cuased by the coilies and the amount the car has been lowered? I remember dubpolo mentioning something about this, getting a knocking noise sometimes. He reckoned there wasn't a fix for it apart from maybe adjusting the ride height? I'll do a bit of searching later (when I'm not at work) and find out
cheers everyone for all your interest got a guy comin down to have a look see what he says as well the knoking is when i accelerate its near the pedal area but underneath the car round that sort of area cant explain. but the grinding is more of an issue people look at my car for the wrong reason now lol.. need to get it sorted. anyone got a pic of the wheel bearing so i can see if i got the wright one ive tried searching every where but still know luck..
