Cableing ideas.

Post by Tigz »

As the engine bay is a little more cluttered than the Lupo was, I dont have the same location to mount the fuse holder.

It needs to be easy to access, and obviously away from any moving parts.

Any suggestions or pics?

Please dont start screaming about how the cable is now, its not connected, except by a hand full of cable ties to hold it in place over night!

Mine worse than yours! It runs from the battery. Along the back of the engine and thru a grommet coming into the car just above the pedals. one of these things I've been meaning to sort for 2 years now. The fuse hangs near the powersteering gubbins :? . I do check the cable for damage regularly mind you

I set fire to the Lupo when it was about a year old through a power cable.
The car spent 3 months at VW under investigation to find the fault, to then have the wiring loom replaced under warrenty.

I like to be a lot more careful after that :D

yeh its abit dodge. I'll sort it at the weekend I think. I dont want my Polo catching fire. That would be sad

Theres probably away of getting the cable into the area where the windscreen wipers are. Not sure about the fuse location, its suppost to be a maximum of 18inches from the battery if i remember rightly. I'll have a look and see what i can see.

Taken from Club Lupo.
Undo the wing bolt in the picture, slide this in between the outer & inner wing, bolt it back up & mount the fuse holder.
