Rear Bearings

Post by Coops »

i take it the rear wheel bearing is built into the rear drum housing on my mk3 1.3 cl? when i had it apart other day (handbrake cable snap) i noticed a second smaller bearing that also slots into the drum once its on the car and is then held by a nut and split pin/cap assembly. which parts do i need to change? and how much?

whats the easiest way n all, take drum off and take it away to get the bearing pressed in?

any advice more than welcome!

cheers

that smaller bearing held on by the castle nut and split pin IS the rear wheel bearing mate, no pressing to be done.

all you need to do is just swap the bearing and put it all back again with a new split pin

don't think the rear bearings are too expensive either too 8)
