im looking at moving onto something with a bigger engine. Around the £12k mark, the 06 GTIs are in range, but so are PDTDI 130 diesels.
Hence the poll.
So tell me what you think its better, and why!
However the GTI engine can be tuned a whole lot depending how much you want to spend. Granted that can also be said for the diesel.chrisash32 wrote:Diesel Will save you more in the long run and also tuned up could be close to the GTi in speed.
ha, thanks for the invite Allyveedub-ally wrote:You know the 130 makes sense! There's very little difference in the performance of the 2 cars and much more mid-range in the diesel. Plus think of the fuel and insurance savings. Go diesel! Give me a shout if you want a ride anytime to make up your mind!
Oh and the 6 speed box is a much sweeter shift than the 5 speed!
An overall average of nearly 23 mpgdino wrote:What did you get out of the R32 out of interet?
Thanks, only reason i ask is that an R32 will be my next car in 2 yrsRossG wrote:An overall average of nearly 23 mpgdino wrote:What did you get out of the R32 out of interet?![]()
Although a spirited run wouldn't see more than 17 - 18![]()
A long motorway journey would see 28 ish and a really careful drive at 60 mph on A roads could (could) see 30 mpg.
I never ever saw any better than that. But - it is notoriously thirsty for a 3.2 6cyl engine. M3 drivers regularly see 33 - 35 mpg on motorway runs, and I have friends with S4's that average the same as my R32 did!!
