Engine and gearbox obviously - if the engine's knackered it's still worth taking the injection system for someone who might want to convert their CL to multipoint injection, and GT inlet manifolds are highly desirable to the G40 boys. Make sure you get the inline fuel pump too.
The arch trims are worth taking (if it's a coupe), as is the interior, rear axle, and dash clocks. And the badges too, as these are now obsolete I believe. Also check the petrol tank - these are prone to rusting at the filler neck and are pricey from VAG. It's a pig to get off, but you'd sell it easily.

i don't know if u know derbyshire at all, but its at chesterfield.
rung the lad (had a rough mobile signal tho
)
and basically, the car is ok apart from a bar that has snapped next to the engine
so now when he goes around corners the wheel goes up into the arch. he was told the bar could be plated or welded together or sumthing, but wants to sell the car to someone who will break it and not put it back on the road because of that problem.allthough it may be an easy repair
