unscrew the lower screw on each side of the front wheel arch. jack up front of car, get under it with a screwdriver and you will see a lot of clips holding the splitter on. get a flat head screw driver and push the clips out with the screwdriver.
Start from one side and work your way around. Its a b***h of a job because i did mine the other day.

hope this helps.

If your worried about damaging the paint with the screwdriver, then just open the 2 torx screws on either side, and give it a good tug.

Once you get it moving, the rest will come off pretty easy

Putting it on is the same way, start from one side, and work your way across. Might need to make sure its sitting flush all round, before you can clip the last corner in. You'll see what i mean when you do it

I just recently changed my splitter from the original to the GTi, and i fought i was a big head ache, but once u know what ur doing it can be straight forward.

Firstly if i was u take the bumper off, its will give you better work space, use the hayes manual as a guide.
there is screws on the original splitter and the are clips which hold it in place, unslot the clips and it will slip off.

Best way to do it is jack the front up and put it on axle stands or similar

Then you can unclip the most difficult, and pull it out gently.

If you yank it out, itll snap all the retainers in the bumper therefore defeating the purpose!!!!

Cheers,

as said all i did was take out the two torx screws and lever out the first clip. Once the first clip is out its really easy to get the rest out
