Is the mileage store on the clocks or the ecu

Post by thedees1 »

Need a bit help on this one folks for my older polo

My left hand tell tale is not working and it failed its mot, i took the clocks out and had a look to see if it is possible to change the bulb, but after stripping down the dash only to find its a small light soldered on a circuit bored. can this be replaced?

If i was to replace the clocks from a polo at the scrapyard would the mileage stilll be stored

Mileage is stored in the clocks (at least it is so in my old mk4 pre-1997 clocks, as in my new Golf mk4 convertible clocks)
