Starter motor

Post by gina »

Does a starter motor need to be vehicle specific, as in, I have a 1.0 L, would a motor off another engine size for example be ok?

Thankyou!

I fitted a 1.0 starter to a 1.4 - no issues apart from I had to change the wiring plug

I had it reconned first and was carefull to replace the brass bush in the gearbox bell housing it should come with a new/refurbed starter

The failure of the bush is frequently the cause of poor starting and batteries being killed.
