No, haven't touched the engine as the gerbox is rubbish.

At the end of the day if want to go faster i'll just buy a faster car.

Fair point for sure....but you not keen on the idea of turboing it? seein as so much works gone into it?

Whats up with your box? or do you mean in general the Gti boxes? in which case i agree...they suck.

The gearboxes in general are rubbish and it doesn't make sense to turbo it in my opinion. At one point I was thinking of putting a 1.8T in, but again, whats the point? At the end of the day it'll still be a polo and the money spent on an engine conversion I can put towards a new car.

I thought exactly the same as you Silky, thought about a conversion then though what's the point. That's £5k+ towards a newer faster car!

I change my mind more than I change my underwear Silky

Going for a MK5 R32 I think, I'd like the new S3 but they start at £25k which is about £5k too much!!

No pics. My bro done the rear handle for me.

PM him on here. He's username is "GTI V".

Only thing is he may not reply as he's usually too busy.

VW use this mechanism on the mark 5 golf, and passat i think?

i'm guessing you'd attach it like you would audi door handles etc... purchase the handle with weld plate attached.
And any extensive work on the machanism can be hidden with the plastic casing on the hatch inside
