Its not that much of a come down to be honest. The polo feels solid like the golf and it did'nt feel hugely slow on acceleration compared to the 1.8T golf. The most noticeable thing though was the lack of rev range and the need to change gear much sooner as the polos a diesel!floaty wrote:Dont mean to hijack but how did you find the polo compared to the golf when you first switched.
I ask as i'm stuggling to justify keeping my anni as i doesn't get used much and was thinking of a polo tdi after seeing your car.
Was it much of a "come down" if at all?
What sort of power and torque would it make once remapped?
Just think of it as a scaled down Golf, still solid and reliable but smaller!
You can get about 140bhp and 220torque out of a mapped 1.9tdi and 60 mpg+ if you drive it carefully.
