You can take it out with keys, like you would for a normal headunit, however you need special VW ones.

Alternatively you can ask VW to take it out, or a specialised Audio technician.

OK, first of all can you write full words, as it's difficult to understand abbreviations at time.

A change of headunit will give you a boost in volume level, as the aftermarket speakers come with built in amplifier, hence the output increase from around 6w to about 4x50w.
If you want to achieve significant upgrades, you'll need more than a headunit

Start with the headunit, then look at upgrading your front components, next dicsonnect the rear speakers and finally install an amp and sub to complete the upgrade. That's your basic route to a decent little install!

THe standard headunit can be removed with cut-up bits of credit card, its not easy though  you're best bet is to get a set of removal keys off eBay or get your local dealership or audio specialist to help, as MaxZ says.

I just yanked my one out and it came out eventually, took the cd shelf thing above it out then just levered it a bit.

I took mine out myself, every time we replace a headunit at work you get another set included with the new stereo. Winner! :D

You can buy the keys from Halfords. I did,. just tell them what car its for and they'll show you which ones you'll need. They'll also do it for if you ask nicely!
