Just a couple of weeks ago I did a DYI FMIC for my Polo...
Bought a FMIC, 2 metres of stainless steel pipe, few silicone hoses and clamps... Lots of cutting and welding + 12 hours of work and even more swearing...
Cost me around 300 euros all together...
Intake temps are now around 27-33 degrees celcius...
With the OEM SMIC they were around 35-60 degrees celcius depending was I moving or not...
Sadly I don't know if it increased any BHP...Feels like it did???
Looks cool though...

(not remapped yet). If I'll need a bigger one I'll get one eventually.
Welded it all together with TIG. Takes a little bit of time but it really is worth it.Never tried welding - perhaps now is the time ??

Sure I could have fitted a bigger cooler. Just didn't see the point of cutting out half of the bumper to get it fitted right. Surely this 280x300x76 core does the trick for me at this "stage"good man custom is the way i think, you could have fit a bigger intercooler than that dont you think??
