so i thought i may as well get a decent aftermarket set rather than vag ones and just thought i'd ask you lovely people what you would recommend?
also what would i need to fit some porsche calipers or should i just keep the standard ones? there pretty

It depends on what engine you have. If you have an 8v, you have much less choice on brakes, as youll need to replace the whole caliper and carrier. If its a 16v you can just replace the carrier to a G60 for 280mm brakes
but if he was to stick with standard brakes what discs and pads would everyone recomend. im looking for some as its apart of my "list" as comin from higher speeds im getting disc warp.

only an 8v mpi job, so there aint much i can do in regards to uprating them then?

Factory brakes are more than adequate. A good set of brembo/zimmerman discs and pads, or OEM stuff (which is the same) are great on the factory setup
Polo brakes arent that great full stop - the GTI is really soft sometimes and the 1.0E just never wanted to stop!
i know the feeling! could feel it the other day went braked at a junction and chunk chunk chunk nearly went up the arse of someone!!! didnt want to stop at all so kind of new they were gone!
Euro car parts, GSF, VW dealers. They all do them buddy
I know what u mean. I hit a drain cover whilst braking the other day. ABS kicked in, released the brakes, then I had to slam them on to stop. Almost went through a red light. silly car!!
