Post by sniblett15 »

got the car serviced the other day and he said im about 75% through my discs and pads aint brilliant either! so will need changing sooner rather than later!

also what would i need to fit some porsche calipers or should i just keep the standard ones? there pretty

It depends on what engine you have. If you have an 8v, you have much less choice on brakes, as youll need to replace the whole caliper and carrier. If its a 16v you can just replace the carrier to a G60 for 280mm brakes :)

Not a massive amount, without cost :(

Factory brakes are more than adequate. A good set of brembo/zimmerman discs and pads, or OEM stuff (which is the same) are great on the factory setup

Polo brakes arent that great full stop - the GTI is really soft sometimes and the 1.0E just never wanted to stop!

Euro car parts, GSF, VW dealers. They all do them buddy :)

I know what u mean. I hit a drain cover whilst braking the other day. ABS kicked in, released the brakes, then I had to slam them on to stop. Almost went through a red light. silly car!!
