Hi guys!
I`m new in here and just need some advice.
My polo is 1996 1.0 engine aev.
Have a car breakdown last week and need to get a new engine(Scrap yard)
Is there a problem to fit in a 1.3 or 1.4 engine in this car??
I know i need a new ECU but is there anything else what will not fit??
Please help me.
Want to buy it on friday

loom- Engine wiring loom connects all your electrics- clocks etc to the engine
Not sure if you could get away using your 1.0 one with a diff engine-
and if you change to a diff size engine you will most probably need the ecu from it
Try and get everything from the same car if possible-
Isnt it easier to get your engine repaired ? whats wrong with it exactly?

on a 6N everythings pretty much the same as far as im aware. yeh youll need the ECU and wiring loom. leave the gearbox from the 1.0L on it will probably a little bit faster if anything! no point spending more then you need to afterall.
If you want to make the whole job easier try and get an engine that is off the same year. The earlier engines seem to be better so get a P reg if you can. Cuts out all the annoying sensors VW started chucking on absolutely bloody everything!
