I would mount the amp elsewhere though. What about a false floor in the boot? It wouldn't get damaged under there.

Once tweaked a few times, your amp should be good to go. You shouldn't have to perform on-the-fly alterations to it, that should be done through the headunit.
Totally up to you where you place it though. I'm just saying there's many a better place!

I noticed your headlamp control unit has two dials where my Polo (don't know about others) only has one. Did yours only have one before?
