I've heard that some aftermarket headlights are plastic at the front, and only to fit HID's to light units that are glass as the HID can be too hot for the plastic.
Anybody know if this is true ?
Would a HID kit be ok on FK Powerlooks for example ?

Very few headlight units are made of glass these days - thats a thing of the past. Projection headlights have a glass lens, but the front is plastic
I have,H.I.D's on standard headlights! Never had a problem with them, the beam pattern is just the same except alot larger, I've never been flashed at or stopped for them!
Hmm may install them on my dinner tomorrow at work. prob upgrade soonish though. Hopefully with christmas and the money i'll buy some 13's. May even keep the cups too. lol. Who knows.
