Be weary of HIDS on Mk4s - the pattern headlights cause an incredible amount of glare, and also have a dreadful beam pattern in most cases

So a new set of Clear Headlamps would be better before installing the HID kit?

I've heard that some aftermarket headlights are plastic at the front, and only to fit HID's to light units that are glass as the HID can be too hot for the plastic.

Anybody know if this is true ?

Would a HID kit be ok on FK Powerlooks for example ?

Cheers,

Scott

Very few headlight units are made of glass these days - thats a thing of the past. Projection headlights have a glass lens, but the front is plastic :P

Powerlooks should be fine!

Yeh powerlooks will definitely be fine. They're the best looking headlights for the 6N too 8)

I have,H.I.D's on standard headlights! Never had a problem with them, the beam pattern is just the same except alot larger, I've never been flashed at or stopped for them!
