I nearly went for a set of them, off a cupra. I got told that the offset is wrong & they 'tuck' in too much. He may of been wrong!

Would look good tho', hence why i wanted them! Just get them balanced with hidden weights, they look awful with them on the outer lip!

im a bit of a n00b so what do the spacers do and what is the problem highlighted by the other user?

basically the Higher the ET the more it wil be tucked into the arch but the lower the ET the more it will stick out of the arch, Eg. standard on a mk5 polo i think is ET35 it is the offset of the wheel, so if you buy some alloys that are say for an example ET28 they will stick about 8mm more out of the arch! so by adding spacers, which are abit of metal which can vary in thickness depending on what you need attatch to your hub making the wheel stick out further!

there the tyre sizes mate, nothing to do with the alloy, they will most likely fit your polo being from a seat

Have a read of this link for a description of offset (ET).

The tyres that are on the rims are a bit tall, so may not be any good to you. The size you need is 195/40/16. More info on tyres is here. The 50 profile tyres on the rims at the moment will make the speedo read slower than you are actually travelling.

The ET of Seat alloys , i believe, is between 35 & 38. As suggested by Bepe, spacers (a shim to push wheel out) could be used, although use a quality made item made for your car as there is a lot of rubbish around.

If the offset is around 35, you shouldn't have much of a problem. If you do, look out for some hubcentric spacers.

The main issue you have though is those tyres, you'll never get them under your arches without scrubbing and laugher (at the ballooness

).

As said before, 195/40/16s are what you need.
