6n2 drivers door electrics updated.
Hi everyone,
Yet another 6n2 electrics problem!
The buttons on the drivers door:
1) drivers window wouldn't go up or down
2) passengers window went down with both up and down buttons
3) doors locked with the lock button, but would not unlock
Put key into lock - locks / unlocks only that door.
But the door locks / unlocks with passenger side central locking.
So, central locking works fine. It's only the drivers door that does nothing. Will lock / unlock manually with the key, but will not effect the central locking.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Lisa.

Check the main cable joint that goes between the door and the car itself is tight as this may have come loose which will effect connectivity.

Is that the sort of toothed connector? its firm to the car, i couldn't get it off. cnt get to the connections on the inside of the door through.

Normally you have to use a pair of grips - its quite a difficult task to get it to move, but it could be the cause.

i have it moving a bit but definitely not enough for it to come off, thanks alexperkins. i will keep trying! its just so cold outside!
now the passengers window switch will just let it go down and the up button does nothing. central locking button locks but doesnt unlock. drivers door locks / unlocks from passenger side but not drivers. strange!!

ok so i still can't get this thing off, there's a chunk out of one of the teeth from using grips to twist it. it's moving about one cm and that's it!
i took out the bottom of the dash and had a look at the wiring but all seems normal. vag-com didn't pull anything up either
This is really getting to me! I need to find a man with more strength and no nails to give it a proper go!
