I've tried a few attempts to capture the real sound... but nothing seems to pick up the true deepness... you only get the upper notes... so you are missing out on the best bits....

sounds very nice one mate... it's just the right volume :D not too loud, but really nice. just what you need for an everyday car
is it possible to ship to other countries ? if yes, what would you expect the costs to be ?

i will try to find out what is the shipping cost for romania and then i will start saving for it.
this is definitely a much greater buy than the milltek exhaust.

what do you recommend for a stock gti with plans for a remap and an aftermarket intake. maybe somewhere in the distant future a larger intercooler. the 2.5'' or the 3.0'' ? does this exhaust cause the "check engine" led to light up, because i'm thinking of loosing the CAT.

Monk - yes without the CAT the check light will come - but not if you send me your ECU .....

If you have done the intake aswell then we can load Stage 2 software for only £50 more - so you can miss out Stage 1 :-) And we eliminate the check light at the same time ;-)

Now it must be sounding like a bargain ?

Go 3" - be hardcore - then when you decide to mod even further then it is ready...

For like K03s hybrid or GT28 - which I soon will also be able to supply ;-) And of course provide mapping

Personally I wouldnt go for a 3" downpipe on the Ko3's. I did this with my mk4 and it made tyhings worse. The 3" is to big for the small Turbo. You still need some back pressure.

Defo go the 3" route for a BT though!

it's a bargain.. but in these times of crisis i have to start saving :D
anyways, i will surely buy the exhaust from you as soon as i'll save the money. i think i'll settle for the 2.5 tough.
i'll keep in touch with you !

In what way? My mate used a 3" Megan Racing downpipe on his K03 MK4 and it made a huge difference.

The turbine wheel is all the back pressure a turbo engine needs. Everything after the turbo should be as restriction free as possible, but you're right, in the real world there will always be a restriction somewhere, post turbo.

A common practice in downpipe sizing is to make the pipe bore 1.5 x turbine wheel size, so in the case of the K03S, 1.5 x 45mm = 67.5mm, or just over 2.5". 3" should work well. The role of the downpipe is merely to allow the super hot gases to expand and cool down quickly as possible (which helps scavenging) so the bigger the better. The rest of the exhaust system isn't so critical, so 2.5" would work well, but not aswell as a 3".

I've seen approx 15-20hp losses below 3000rpm with the full Miltek system on Audi 225s, but I think that is partly down to the exhaust design and the mapping.
Bosch ME7 uses torque limiting, so if it senses a faster spool (i.e. boost earlier in the rev range) the ECU poops the party. That needs to be mapped out / disabled in order to get the most from a bigger exhaust system.

Losses in power on a K04 with a 3" exhaust sounds like a mapping issue to me ...

But I have the 3" with future in mind .. it will be essential for BT...

But heh .. it makes my K04-001 deliver perfectly :-)
