I'll have a poke about and see if anyone is selling a set of BBS RX2 splitties, they might help the sale along a bit quicker than G60 steels... although the steels are more "scene"

I'd say start off high and work your way down. Despite the credit crunch and most cars going for rediculous prices, the GTI is still holding it's value for its age. Can't believe the oldest examples will be 10 years old next year

Another one selling then (I'm also going to be selling in the next couple of months too). There will be none of us long-ish serving members left soon - I originally joined in 2005, but my account got deleted somehow and I lost all my posts :( .

What are you thinking of getting next Si?

Alun, next up is a Fabia vRS I think. I did also look at the Polo GT (130bhp version, seemingly rare as hens teeth) and Ibiza Cupra TDI but the Fabia is the most appealing to me out of those three.

Go and have a test drive in a Scirocco. I had a blast in a GT last week. I'm keeping my polo until I can afford one now.

Theres some really cheap stuff out there, look at stuff with a v6, I saw a Alfa 147 GTA for 8k last week.

Who are the oldies on here now, most the people who where he when I signed up are gone now. You signed up 2 days after me Si lol

The Fabia is cheap as chips now, dropped loads in price! I would rather have another MK4 Golf GT TDi over a Fabia like but I wouldn't say no to one. With a remap they're like 180bhp, fair nippy too. Derv power and all that.

Have to aim higher than that! A3 minimal, the way I see it. The only way from the Polo is up and onto a quicker more spacious car. 8)

Nah vRS is very good call in my eyes. Stick with the small go kart handlers 8)

Fabia vRS in black with factory-fitted xenons, thats the target. My mate works in a bodyshop and he had exactly that, a standard black Fabia vRS with xenons, in last week for a new rear bumper. I had a good look around it and I like it! 8)

Octavia vRS also crossed my mind (either petrol or diesel), they're quite cheap now too for an 06-plate. Under £9k with xenons and half-leather!

forgive me as i havent read all the posts

but if your planning on selling it, dont spend a penny more on it, you will never recover it.

just give it a very good clean, yes its modified, i bought mine modified, for £5000 in 2006.

some one will will buy it, you just wont get a quick sale, be patient

good luck
