Regarding the PD160 intake, it consistes of 2 parts and can be got from any Seat dealer for about £70.

Not sure how much of a difference it'll make without a remap. Then again, I don't know if my green filter makes much of a difference either as I got it installed at the same time mine was remapped, so couldn't tell!

Haha, I'm sure the filter and intake contribute to the power of the beast that I would expect your car to be :P

Also thanks for the heads up bro, as for fitting the intake, where can I take it to get it done?

Well my 3 cylinder 1.4 TDi isn't exactly a beast  Goes pretty well with the remap though and does 65 MPG on a run.

Regarding the intake, just do it yourself. Here's a how to:

I've not got round to changing the intake yet, but might consider it in the future if I decide to bite the bullet and swap the turbo for one that has more potential.

Other simple mods would be lowering it a bit more and maybe a Seat sport strut brace.

Hey there welcome to the forums, and as other have said its a great car!!!

I added a k&n filter to my air box and i cant tell if there is a difference or not. but as i far as im aware they let more air through so should be a good thing!
Also looking to add the pd160 which i think as many other seem to think is a good addition. A really easy swap too. Especially if you look at the guide posted above.
Ive always felt relcutant to do things myself on my car but with the amount of money you save its definately worht it.
I would also look at the seat sport strut brace too. A couple of guys on here gave me loads of info on them and how to fit them etc. Ive heard lots of people say they stiffen up the front end.

1.9 TDi, remap 135bhp, Toyo Proxes, gti grill, gti Headlights, front splitter, custom boot mat, TDi grill badge.
And contemplating more things.

Yeah, I've looked at the guide it doesn't seem to difficult a job to do.
But I'm leaving my car alone now till summer, as I have a s**t laod of uni exams. But as soon as Im done. I'm going to start back on my car. Plus I'll get some pics up. atm I've only added Xenon's, and put some conti's on the 16's.

Summer plans include:
Exhast system, been looking at the GTi system decated. Plus a nicely tuned backbox
A proper full service
Oil changes, for high quality stuff.
PD160 intake and a green filter, people say thats a good combo to go with.
If I can, a re-map up to 165bhp
Paint the inside of the alloys black like the new mk6 golf gti's
Callipers done red.
If I can find one, a Tourreg(new) double din unit.

Depeding on how much I have left maybe get the tweeters upgraded.

exhaust wise , most of the guys running seat tdis seem to go with custom straight pipes turbo back , lets you hear the turbo spooling up and gives some performance gains , and wont fail ya MOT as its a smoke test for dervs. :)

Check out straight pipe tdi videos on youtube for what i mean about the turbo spool sound

Yeah? tbh I haven't looked at it in depth yet, but if that is the case. I'll have to do some more hoework and see what does fit. Thanks for the heads up.

Was browsing around, will a Miltech cat back exhaust system fit on the Gt TDI?
Also people have been saying to get re-maps, aftre having looked, there are alot of companies out there. Which one wuld people recomend for performance? I know some re-maps cause alot of exhaust smoke, which re-map keeps this to a minimum, also whats the difference between a Stage 1 & 2 re-map?

Thanks in advance.

I went with Custom Code last year. Top service from them. However, I've heard good things about more-bhp.

A stage 1 remap is a generic map suited to a car which is otherwise stock or has had minor changes...
No point spending extra on a Stage 2 remap imo unless you've soted the intake out, less restrictive exhaust and FMIC.

Also if you go with a stage 2 you might need a new clutch too :(
