Filter or Induction kit for 16v
Anyone know of the ways to get a nice induction kit under the tight space in a 16v engine bay? Pics would be awesome!

induction kits on a 1.4 16v and the gti's give less power
let me explain, i had put my 16v on the rollers at uni (we have automotive section with a rolling road) for free and put the car on with a panel filter and then a k&n induction kit and found that the induction kit gave 6bhp less throughout the rev range.
its obvious that the induction kit will give less as the cone is at the back of the engine where all the hot air is.
before you ask yes i did have a cold air feed going to it.
also last year at the clubpolo rolling road day we had a mk5 gti with a panel filter go against a mk5 gti with a induction kit and the one with the panel filter kicked the other gti's arse.
the induction kits that tend to work are the BMC ones.
