how on earth do you shorten door pins? is there a picture thread on here?

You just unscrew them, saw the thread down and stick them back on!

lol there are ways around that :P open the window and put the key in the lock lol

There no way to pull the door pins back up if the central locking wont operate - polos dont have the feature like golfs have which pull the door pins if they are locked and the handles are pulled.

yeh there's loads of ways round it, if something was ever to fail (unlikely).

If it's just the central locking that's gone from the inside you can put down the windows, or the outside put the key in the lock and hold the unlocking position so the windows go down.

if it's the electrics that have gone from the inside on my car you can just wind down the rear windows, and from the outside just open the boot.

now considering central locking after half a day of getting out and walking round the car to open the passangers door to let the girlfriend in... how easy is it to fit central locking d.i.y style?

Its fiddly - theres holes to drill, and wires to put into the doors, but you can do it. I did it on my old one succesffuly.

remote start is semi pointless on the polo, plus its a pig to make work as you have to override the immobilser - not wise. I may be able to help you out as im not that far away. let me know closer to the time.

okay ive relised that now as ive spoke to Jason at absoluteaudio, i was just going to go for the kit below now instead will probs be very soon, where are you living to mate? Is this the same kit you used or did you use a different one?
