seat belt warning light

Post by londonvw »

my seat belt warning light doesn't work.

sadly i am an idiot who does forget to put their seat belt on sometimes so its useful.

any ideas if its a simple job like replacing a sensor or could it be something else? i couldn't see any wires on the seatbelt clip holder so any pointers to how/where everything is would be much appreciated!

Maybe I'm wrong but are you sure your car has one fitted? I don't think I have one on mine.

that's weird. the 2003 car i had definitely had a red warning light. i can see the outline of one on the bottom right on the speedo and the handbook says it should be on.

its a 2006 1.4s

thats because you bought an "s" model. Its only one step up from the basic spec "e" polo

i thought getting an S would give me a better spec than an E. I had a 2003 E and its turning out to have been a better spec car apart from a cd player. stingey gets!

None of the Polo range have them. Can be retrofitted though.

I dunno about everyone else, but the first thing I do when I get in my car is put my belt on, even before putting the key in the ignition.

I wouldn't mind the light so much, its the ones that keep beeping as you drive off that are seriously annoying.
Easier to just get into the habit of putting it on before starting the car!
