seat belt warning light
seat belt warning light
my seat belt warning light doesn't work.
sadly i am an idiot who does forget to put their seat belt on sometimes so its useful.
any ideas if its a simple job like replacing a sensor or could it be something else? i couldn't see any wires on the seatbelt clip holder so any pointers to how/where everything is would be much appreciated!

Maybe I'm wrong but are you sure your car has one fitted? I don't think I have one on mine.

Re: seat belt warning light
you can activate or de-activate it with VAG-COM i quess.
Re: seat belt warning light
that's weird. the 2003 car i had definitely had a red warning light. i can see the outline of one on the bottom right on the speedo and the handbook says it should be on.
its a 2006 1.4s

interesting - i just called uo VW - not fitted on the polo. i thought that was an EU requirement - this model is penny pinched to the max!
Re: seat belt warning light
thats because you bought an "s" model. Its only one step up from the basic spec "e" polo
Re: seat belt warning light
My GTI doesn't have it either and this is the top model of the Polo's?MGrove03 wrote:thats because you bought an "s" model. Its only one step up from the basic spec "e" polo
Re: seat belt warning light
yeah no light on mine either, yes they penny pinched on this one, the 9n model had gas struts on the bonnet!

Re: seat belt warning light
i thought getting an S would give me a better spec than an E. I had a 2003 E and its turning out to have been a better spec car apart from a cd player. stingey gets!

None of the Polo range have them. Can be retrofitted though.
I dunno about everyone else, but the first thing I do when I get in my car is put my belt on, even before putting the key in the ignition.

I wouldn't mind the light so much, its the ones that keep beeping as you drive off that are seriously annoying.
Easier to just get into the habit of putting it on before starting the car!
